We are reminded that part of our vocation in marriage is to help get our spouses to Heaven and St Louis and St Zélie lead the way in this, being the FIRST COUPLE to be CANONIZED TOGETHER!

Just to prove that our craft kit is versatile…and after converting a Michaels wooden barn and a Goldfish Cracker Box to a Church, I picked up a couple other boxes from Michaels to make a few different styles of Church play sets for our Painted Saints.
I enjoy making meaningful, homemade gifts…especially when I think they will help immerse kids deeper in the Catholic Faith. As Catholics, we have a rich Tradition to pass along with many classic Catholic prayers…and awesome Saints to inspire and guide us.
Printables for a Prayerful Lent! **2017 Update**
1. Stepping Stones through Jesus’ Life: Step through the key moments of Jesus’ Life as presented through Scripture.
2. Lenten Calendar: The Lenten version of the Advent Calendar, this banner or pocket-filled poster offers a Scriptural quote or reflection, virtue taught by Jesus or a moment from his life, represented through Bible verses, drawings or small props.
I thought I’d go a little retro with my use of the NEW Saint Scripts Cathletics Craft Kits. You see, the 21 postcards in each of the TWO kits available can be a pretty helpful reference tool with the name, a brief biography, an awesome full color Kelly Comics illustration and all the basic Saint Stats including years of life, Feast Day, vocation and patronage.
When you really stop to think about it…our Sacrament of Reconciliation is incredible!! Where else can we hand over our burdens and struggles and receive complete ABSOLUTION; the very MERCY of JESUS poured over our bruised and battered little souls. We celebrate Baptism with a beautiful flowy baby dress, a beautiful anointing and prayers at the Church …and by Holy Communion, those little babies are all dressed up in their suits and white dresses and veils, with no shortage of photo ops, gifts and cake. Both of these Sacraments are MONUMENTAL, but sometimes a quiet little evening of First Reconciliation, where kids line up for their one-to-one talk with the priest… gets a little overlooked.
Isn’t Pinterest fun? My only challenge about pinterest…is how to really use it to create things to help my family! It’s so easy to pin pretty pictures, but sometimes they just gather on my pinboards and I don’t actually try the craft or recipe. I have been delighted to discover awesome artists who I would not have found without pinterest, but I don’t always remember to visit my ‘artwork’ pinboard to admire all of the work. Together with prayers I have managed to find and pin, I have created a new Prayer Book Pinboard, but this time…I have an action plan! This collection will be used to build something!
