Let the First Communicant wear a First Communion dress crocheted by the Pope’s cousin.
It’s true. Bridget will be wearing our family First Communion dress. It’s not satiny or even very long like the other girls’ First Communion dresses, but it was lovingly made by our adopted-Grandma Elizabeth, married to the first cousin of St John Paul II.
I enjoy making meaningful, homemade gifts…especially when I think they will help immerse kids deeper in the Catholic Faith. As Catholics, we have a rich Tradition to pass along with many classic Catholic prayers…and awesome Saints to inspire and guide us.
Earlier this week, on May 13, the Church celebrated Feasts of Our Lady of Fatima and Blessed Imelda Lambertini.
When I wrote about our busy month of April in our Saint Mail post for St Isidore, I could have suggested that May is just as busy…and June’s looking quite hectic as well!
I apologize for how late this post is! We received our April Saint Mail and were eager to jump in, but April was a pretty busy month!
Did you know that St Isidore had a sister and two brothers who were all declared saints! Wow! Four saints in one family! Three bishops and a nun!

It’s Sacrament Season again!
My Godson makes his First Holy Communion this Saturday and my daughter Bridget makes hers in 2 weeks!

With so much celebration this month, we’ve been making cheap and easy decorations to use over and over across our continued Easter celebrations…three more family birthdays, High School Arts Night and maybe even our First Communion party all in the month of May!
It’s been kind of a blur of activity since Easter…away for the NCEA conference and 3 big family birthdays! I’m finally getting around to showing you the neat stuff I discovered at the National Catholic Education Association conference!
