Although sometimes relegated to legend, St Christopher remains the patron saint of travelers.  Legends recall St Christopher helping people (including the Christ Child) cross a raging stream.  The name Christopher means “Christ-Bearer”.

St Kateri was orphaned when her Mohawk and Algonquin parents died of smallpox.  Misunderstood by her people, she fled to Canada where she could live her Christian Faith through prayer, penance and good works.  As she died, the smallpox scars vanished from her face.

If you’ve seen our Catholic Dreamcatcher, you’ll know that we are busy with crafts for the Feast Day of St Kateri on July 14.

Inspired by the St Kateri paper bag vests at Catholic Inspired and the crumpled version at Catholic Icing, I thought I’d try my own version for Bridget’s American Doll.
