Spy Wednesday!

30 Coins Hidden

Tenebrae means “shadow” or “darkness.” The Liturgy of the Hours is chanted and with the completion of each reading, a candle is extinguished until the church is pitch black.

Spy Wednesday is traditionally the day we read how Mary anointed Jesus’ Feet with expensive oil and dried His Feet with her hair. Judas criticizes Mary’s efforts, mentioning that the price of the expensive oil would be better suited to help the poor. Judas looks for an opportunity to turn Jesus over to the chief priests and will receive 30 coins for his betrayal; approximately one tenth the expense of the anointing oil.

Equipping Catholic Families for February Saints Days!

This is our monthly summary of crafts and family traditions related to the Monthly Devotion, Key Feast Days, and the appropriate Season of the Liturgical Calendar. As our kids get older, our activities and commitment to Catholic crafts have changed and adjusted (at least for our last TEEN and young adult kids)! While we haven’t exactly been adding a lot of Catholic crafts around here, we do enjoy pulling out the crafts and programs we’ve developed over the years, sometimes sharing them with younger families in our parish!

Cathletics Craft Kits: Up Close! {Cathletics Key Cards: Trinity Pack}

Years ago, we sold 18 different themed Cathletics Key Cards and they were a big hit with Sacrament classes, homeschooling and Godchild gifts!

They were laminated cards, carefully assembled individually or in bulk. The spinning color flap reveals and covers the answers related to each category within the theme of the card.
