Poker Chips (Converted to Catholic!)

Years ago, I made a Catholic craft out of some poker chips, a plastic picture frame and double-sided suction cups. We called it Plunk! with the Saints and posted a tutorial to make a Plunk! board.

Since then, our in-house artist (daughter) Kelly started drawing the Saints…and then the Mysteries of the Rosary and the Stations of the Cross. We’ve released a number of Cathletics Craft Kits with all kinds of templates to customize board game pieces, cake topper decorations…and we’ve finally got them ready for poker chips! Now, we keep coming up with new ways to use them! A little mod podge goes a long way! The Kelly Saints Stamps Craft Kit already includes a number of different templates of the Kelly Saints illustrations and bios, formatted to fit various game pieces, activities and crafts! The 1.5″ templates are a perfect fit for poker chips…but here are 30 ways to use the kit! read more...for Equipping Catholic Families!

CrackerBox Cathedral

A few weeks ago, I was excited to post the Kelly Saints Cathedral Clipart Craft Kit I created to transform the Michael’s ArtMinds Wood Barn into a Church for the Wooden Painted Saints.

Well, I felt Julia’s frustration when she couldn’t find this sold-out wood barn at Michael’s…and I’m so excited to present this tutorial to make the Kelly Saints Cathedral

Feast Day Fun: St. Agatha

St. Agatha’s Feast Day is February 5.  She was a young Christian who refused to marry or break her vow of chastity. The young suitor Quintian had her arrested, imprisoned and tortured in the hope of changing her mind and she responded “Jesus Christ, Lord of all, you see my heart, you know my desires. Possess all that I am. I am your sheep: make me worthy to overcome the devil.”

Feast Day Fun: St Brigid

February 1st  is the Feast Day of St Brigid of Ireland

St. Brigid was born daughter to a chieftain and a slave woman, and brought up by a druid. Her life was marked by miracles from an early age which impressed the king of Leinster, who granted her her freedom. She became a religious and founded a monastery over the fires of a pagan shrine at Kildare, and developed into a cathedral city of culture and learning. She and her friend St. Patrick, are regarded as the Pillars of the Irish people. (from SaintNook)
