Back to School 2014

It has been a crazy week…moving Emily off to University 5 hours away and sending Adam off to his first day of Kindergarten this morning…and 3 kids in between!

Catholic University CarePack

Today we are moving Emily into University, 4.5 hours away! (Yes, in Canada…we use the word University…the way Americans use the word College)

While there is no shortage of things to do, plan or pack, I’ve been distracting myself this week by compiling her first University Care Package. Do you have a Pope Shelf?

In honor of St Anthony’s Feast Day on Friday, I was thinking about re-presenting the St Anthony Box craft from A Treasure Chest of Traditions for Catholic Families.

The idea behind this craft is to honor St Anthony as the patron of lost items. Many people say a quick prayer to St Anthony, asking for his help to find something that is lost. When the object is found, a Hail Mary is said for the souls in Purgatory and a donation is often made in St Anthony’s name, to the poor.

Count your Blessings Box and Book

I’ve been thinking about some activities to put in place, in time for Lent this year.
